I am a first-year student at the University of Virginia, hoping to double major in statistics and global development studies. I first began learning about Bangladesh during a short-term study abroad in Bangladesh with my university this past January. It was in that class where I learned about BRAC, the world's largest nonprofit organization, and how social enterprise could play a hand in reducing poverty. This summer I will be returning to Bangladesh as part of a US State department program, to learn Bengali. I will also be assessing the viability of my Dell Social Innovation project, community playgrounds. In my free time I like to meet new people, travel, and play tennis.
