Jackie is passionate about building sustainable technology dissemination models that reach the base-of-the-pyramid. Her Masters thesis in the Engineering for Sustainable Development program at the University of Cambridge focuses on new product introduction strategies for diffusing appropriate technologies and increasing user adoption rates in low-income communities, specifically in East Africa. Prior to her Masters, Jackie studied mechanical engineering at Harvard, with a focus on technologies for developing countries. She has spent over two years traveling and working in sub-Saharan Africa, where she worked with technology-for-development initiatives in 11 Africa countries. She has experience with a wide range of organizations and technologies, from non-profits to NGOs to social enterprises, and from agricultural processing tools to water pumps to bicycle-powered machines.
