Ethical Innovation: Reduce socio-economic polarization, protect environment, and create respectful jobs.

Maya Angelo couldn’t have put it better when she said; there is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you. Chimamanda Adichie takes it a little further as she speaks of the danger of a single story that is one sided. The Story Cookers Kenya philosophy is very simple: Everyone has a story that is unique to them but not everyone has the opportunity to tell their story to the world. At Storycookers we are giving children and young people the precious chance to tell their stories to the world. To us there is no greater calling

At storycookers, we believe that in an enabling environment that allows and encourages the culture of originality, diversity and sharing, studentscanbring out genuine creativity that can inspire us and make our world a better place to live.

With this belief storycookers have a mission of making a world more creatively open and connected through children’s stories. We encourage students to express their originality by creating children’s stories through self-directed manners. We encourage them to do so by expressing their diversecultures, experiences, emotions, ideas, imaginations and aspirations through diverse means of communication ranging from image, texts, audio, to video. For studentsthe minimum requirement at storycookers is to have their stories expressed in image and at least two languages. Given the fact that creating such stories may be a daunting mission for many students, we work with storycookers guide centers to guide students to work together in groups sharing their different and similar ideas, strengths and weaknesses. Finally, we provide platform at storycookers.com and off-line events where students can share their stories with people from diverse backgrounds in terms of culture and socio-economic status.
