The social problem :People are living longer than ever before.  However, they often spend the last 10-20 years of their life in a retirement home or nursing home.  Many older people lose their sense of usefulness because they have nothing to do and this often leads to depression and dimentia.  proposed solution: a for profit business—revision of typical retirement/nursing home. This type of old folks home would be a very involved community in which each resident is assigned a given role that allows them to contribute to the community and recieves compensation for this work in a manner similar to a college work study system.
