Roadmap to Success:

FIVE PROJECT QUESTIONS Required (60 - 90 minutes)

1. What is your innovation?
We propose a project that fits the Latin American people culture and applicable to similar areas around the world not only to Puno. We want students and professionals from different careers to work together with Puno’s people to discover new ways to add value to the traditional ancestral craftworks, and discover the Potential to create development .An this way we will enrich the value chain. And have women as the leader for this change.
2. Who gains the most?
Firstly women as they will learn new techniques that will make their products more valuable and this will contribute to their income, confidence and independence, important in a machist society. Secondly, children as child labor will be reduced significantly as a result of the better incomes of their mothers. This will allow them to study instead. Thirdly, the economy of Puno will also gain as the GDI per capita will increase. Finally, the professionals supporting will gain more experience.
3. Who pays?
Small investment is required as we are looking for development through education to create value from existing resources to improve lifestyle and economy of the area. We maintain the traditional format were craftwomen buy raw materials needed and recover the investment by selling the products with added value. Professionals will receive a salary that will come from a percentage of the sells generated AFTER the project is more consolidated. We look for support of regional governments and NGO's
4. What is your success?
Our success is to be able to show these women to be self-sufficient. We want to help them to generate their own source of income to maintain their families. This will contribute to eradicate children labor and also improve the economy of Puno. We don’t plan to give women charity; we want to give them the tools to develop themselves. We want build up a permaculture culture that compromises the future generations and that can be use an example for other communities.
5. How will you do it?
Our organization seeks to recruit a group of studens and professionaks interested in making a change in the community to promote sustainable development. We will need the experience of different careers mainly art and design professionals to help them create a more elaborated and attractive product and marketing professionals will be needed too to provide the knowledge of commercializing the products. We want engaged professional with sense of belonging that understand the potential of the area
