Increasing free and effortless access to critical information for music content creators, licensors and users.

Our entire reason for existing is to give every musician free and easy access to information that is critical to their success in today's music industry. The way we see it, the business and legal information musicians need to thrive in the industry is about as elusive as the perfect record deal we've all been chasing.

Yet, everything musicians need to do in the modern music industry—land gigs, produce albums, promote themselves, uphold a brand—requires not just knowing this information but a competence in knowing how to use this information. In fact, we'd say being a modern musician requires legal prowess most only attain in high-level college classes—if not in law school.

Sure, this is why we have (nice and expensive) lawyers in the biz, so they can aid musicians in navigating the legal matters that affect their careers. But really, do musicians still need to be left in the dark, especially musicians who wish to retain control over their careers? The answer is no. And this is why we have created the Musician's Business Dictionary, the world's only online resource of more than 300 searchable music industry jargon definitions.

We provide the means for musicians to educate themselves, so our industry can be well on its way to having all musicians aware of the business and legal issues that affect their art. And so they can take the necessary steps to mitigate/convert those issues into opportunities for success.
