Create a pool of media professionals out of kids living in shelter homes across India to bring sustainability.

Media For Society aims at providing media solutions to organisations and individuals working for change. We are a group of passionate media professionals who wish to use their creative talents to give a voice for to the unheard, raise issues, create a platform for debate, and present these ideas and issues at a global platform.

As media professionals, we have seen how non-govt. sector and other change makers struggle to get their stories across because of limited access to media. Most of the media service providers in the market are profit oriented. So, anybody who wants to talk about an issue has to either pay a very hefty charge or to settle with mediocre quality.

We, at Media For Society, aim to kill this paradigm and provide a better alternative. Our approach of handling any given project is very different. Media For Society works on transparency and mutual trust. We ask NGOs to make their own budgets and tell us what can satisfy their needs rather than imposing expensive, and sometimes undesirable technology.

The most important aspect of M4S is “Project Mpower” where we train kids living in shelter homes to become world class media professionals, and a part of our team.

FIVE PROJECT QUESTIONS Required (60 - 90 minutes)

1. What is your innovation?
Our two major innovations include: a) Low cost media service provider to people and organisations working for change. b) Project Mpower: where we train kids living in shelter homes to become media professionals and a part of our team.
2. Who gains the most?
Media For Society works with and for the community. So, community gains the most. Our low cost media services empower change makers to not only talk about issues but create a platform where these can be shared with the larger society. Also, with our special drive to train kids at shelter homes, M4S brings sustainable livelihood to many.
3. Who pays?
There are over 3 million NGOs and NPOs in India. There are half as many people working independently. Almost all of them would be looking for some media related service. And if are able to tap these many people, and get payed for providing low cost media solutions, we exercise economies of scale and save enough for our other projects. We are also looking for exclusive media partnerships to sustain ourselves, and filmmakers, designers, photographers in various parts of the country.
5. How will you do it?
~Partnerships with filmmakers, researchers, photographers, NGOs across the country. ~Looking for sponsorships. ~Investing from personal savings.
