Leveraging the power of communities to fund disease research and support each other through emotional times.

golf4gr8 is a non-profit that helps empower those who have lost loved ones to disease to leverage the power of their communities and personal networks to impact disease research, eternalize the legacy of their lost loved ones, and move forward in their lives. By establishing individual memorial funds that raise money through annual personalized events, such as golf outings and 5ks, communities can come together and support worthy causes as well as those who are healing.

golf4gr8 hopes to partner with hospitals to offer solutions to help family and friends of lost loved ones move forward in their lives. We plan to grow our network of hospitals initially through partnering with each hospitals regional partner hospitals and then contuing to expand into neighboring markets. The greatest power to cause change comes from the hottest fires. We believe that those who are most passionate to incite change in their community will be the most passionate to turn negative circumstances into positive outcomes.

1. What is your innovation?

When a loved one loses a battle to a terrible disease, the need for their surviving family and friends to move forward while remembering and honoring their lost loved one is incredibly important. golf4gr8 presents a solution to these people in the form of an individual memorial fund that raises money to fund disease research through the hosting of annual community events. golf4gr8 exists at the convergence of community support, finding a cure, and eternalizing the legacy of a lost loved one.

2. Who gains the most?

After a lost loved one has lost their battle to a terrible disease, the surviving family and friends who fought and provided their support can feel lost and hopeless. golf4gr8 exists to help these people move forward in the right way. Ensuring their own physical and mental health through community support will benefit these people the most.

3. Who pays?

golf4gr8 is a non-profit organization. In our first year, we will rely on grant funding and investor seed money to cover initial development costs. Golf4gr8 is expected to be cash flow positive by year two. Those who are starting a memorial fund, with the desire to hold annual community events will pay to establish a fund, maintain the fund annually, and host events.

4. What is your success?

Success after one year will come in form of having established over 20 funds, knowing that the families who have recently experienced loss are optimistic about the future, knowing that their loss can have a positive impact on both their community. By year 3, golf4gr8 hopes to have expanded its network of partnership hospitals to 30+ hospitals in the Chicago area and develop partnerships in other mid-major markets in the midwest. By year 5, we hope to expand into smaller markets in the midwest.

5. How will you do it?

golf4gr8 will reach scale through establishing these effective partnerships with hospitals and being positioned as a reliable, branded solution for community fundraising and support. The quality of the events and their ability to bring communities together in a lower cost model will be important to the ultimate success of golf4gr8.
