Team Give Tanks

BMX/Skate Park will fund free art classes such as dance, music, poetry & crafts for at-risk youth

What is Give Tanks... Give Tanks are smiling tanktops of awesome things to 'give tanks' for, reminding everyone to 'be tankful' for the beautiful, little things in life, with 25% of profits going towards community-based development programs in overlooked communities around the world.

Current Project ~ BMX/Skate Park for the Arts... In partnership with The Phoenix Foundation, a registered 501 (c)3 youth empowerment organization, we have developed a plan for the construction of a public BMX/Skate park for at-risk youth in Ciudad Sandino, Nicaragua. This park will be the cities first public BMX park, operated by Phoenix, with sustainable income from the park used to help subsidize free art programs for local girls and boys at Phoenix. Income generated from this park through regional competitions, equipment rentals, and the sale of homegrown fruits and vegetables will help subsidize start-up Phoenix Art Programs such as dance music, painting and crafts.

Meet our Partner... Phoenix Foundation is a youth empowerment organization in Ciudad Sandino. With core values centered on love, compassion, and respect, Phoenix offers much needed free, before & after school, programs that teach kids valuable life skills, personal values, and prevention methods.

Why this Park is important... This park would achieve giving kids a safe, clean place to practice two of the most booming sports in Latin America that are healthy for your body and mind. Having a safe place to practice a passion promotes personal responsibility & has the potential to save kids from the streets. Art Programs started from this park will offer courses not taught in public school. A child's life can be transformed forever if she discovers her voice produces beautiful harmonies, or if you give him access to a paintbrush&canvas or pen&paper. They gain a feeling of confidence, self-sufficiency, & potential income. We will be laying the foundations for the city's girls and boys to discover their talents, practice their passions, and add a significant measure of improvement into their lives. All of their personal development and empowerment comes from within

1. What is your innovation?

Our mission is 2-fold, w/ equal focus placed on the consumer and the community development project they are actively representing. Each Give Tanks has a smiling graphic of something to be 'tankful' for. By making ppl more conscious of their gratitude, we aim to inspire people to be more tankful for life's incredible gifts and to constantly strive to live more positively and progressively each day. We are seeking to revolutionize philanthropy by making it fashionable, interactive, and positive!

2. Who gains the most?

At-risk youth will gain the most from the BMX/Skate Park for the Arts. It would achieve giving kids a safe, clean place to practice two of the most booming sports in C.A. that are healthy for your body and mind. Phoenix Art Programs started from this park will give local girls & boys access to art classes not taught in public school, such as song, dance, crafts, writing, and paint. They gain a feeling of confidence, self-sufficiency, & potential income.

3. Who pays?

The sustainability of Give Tanks lies within the product/message we share with people. We made a concerted effort to produce a high quality product that has a social purpose for existing beyond just diversifying your wardrobe. We wanted to ensure that we created a positive product that everyone in the world could appreciate, understand, embrace, and enjoy. By grounding our roots in philanthropy, we have opened the door towards working with charities, organizations and people who want real change

4. What is your success?

In 12 months, Give Tanks and our current partner expect to have funded and began construction of the BMX/Skate Park for the Arts in Ciudad Sandino. We will continue to partner with the best local organizations working to sustainably educate and empower communities from within and enlist any help we need to make change happen. Give Tanks is the new generation of youth-inspired philanthropy, and we will use our role in fashion to show our peers that giving back is fashionable, fun, and empowering

5. How will you do it?

We made a concerted effort to create a high-quality product that would inspire positive actions & genuine good moods, encourage kindness & compassion, & show our peers that anyone can make a difference in someone's life. Our goal is to show kids, students and parents that philanthropy isn't just the right thing to do, but that it's awesome, empowering, and completely subject to your creativity. It's not a wonder of if we will create lasting change, but rather which actors will join our journey.
