Changing the low-literacy rate and giving opportunities to read to all the children and adults in poor areas

My daughter and I wanted to start this project based on her own experience attending one of the schools. This has left an impact for her to help her fellow students enjoy reading as she does. Our Project: El Cipitio", named after the legendary child who was a favorite among the children. He laughs with his large belly and big hat, while helping teach morals and values to the Salvadorian children that are in their communities, families and schools. Our first school is, Centro Escolar Caserio El Amatal, Canton: San Jeronomios located in Metapan, the rural part of Northern El Salvador close to the Guatemalan border, and is very poor. The have two teachers. The second school is, Centro Escolar "General Francisco Morazan, Colonia Solorzano, calle Simon Bolivar,Avenida Morena Celarie. This is located in Santa Ana, is located in rural Northern El Salvador close to the Guatemalan border. The have two teachers who teach English/Spanish. Both, of the schools consist of K-7th Grade and are approximately up to 20 students. The wear uniforms and attends ½ a day and works the other half to help the family. They do not have a library, or computers the nearest computers were in town two hours away, at computer cafes, which cost money. Only 11% of the population is knowledgeable of the internet. Despite the economy, the resources are limited and the teachers continue to prepare their students for college, and the business world which has become competitive, and what difference it will be in their lives. The schools do not have basic supplies like America, and ask for any donations to help. A library computer lab would be a valuable investment in the future, while inspiring the youth of tomorrow with technology. This will remove the obstacles or disadvantages of a student succeeding today by use of the internet to connect to other classrooms with video-conferencing, about ideas. The donations for this project to build libraries or donate books, computers will make this successful. The primary goal is to equip all the rural schools with a library, one fully loaded computer with software including internet. Buy or donate new books or Recycle used books to the school/library in El Salvador. The teachers in El Salvador have so much to give to their people lets share their dreams with everyone. By helping their dream in passing this message to everyone, who "Donates One Book, One Computer" so children in poor countries can read and build friendships for a lifetime.
