Computer Kitchen
Our service transforms e-waste into something useful. We sustain the environment and help people in poverty.
Computers refurbished from E-waste will be provided to families and individuals at no charge or low cost. To keep costs low and community-sustained, the program is staffed entirely by volunteers. The volunteers donate their time to build computers, run classes, and solve computer technical problems.
FIVE PROJECT QUESTIONS Required (60 - 90 minutes)
1. What is your innovation?
Computers refurbished from E-waste will be provided to families and individuals at no charge or low cost. To keep costs low and community-sustained, the program is staffed entirely by volunteers. The volunteers donate their time to build computers, run classes, and solve computer technical problems.
2. Who gains the most?
Families and individuals who lack the economic resources to access computer skills and technology.
3. Who pays?
We will sell the built computers and other donated spare parts for a fraction of their true value. Community clients are asked to donate $5 or $50 a year membership fees to tour the e-waste site, take a computer class, or consult with our computer savvy volunteers.
