AltruHelp is forming a philanthropic ecosystem to amplify social impact on enterprise & individual levels.

AltruHelp (Altruism + U Help) is a social media platform & (SaaS) toolbox that re-engineers the Web 2.0 model for volunteerism & corporate social responsibility (CSR) to transform traditional philanthropy into measurable social impact!  Corporate & nonprofit users along with individuals amplify their philanthropic accomplishments with AltruHelp‘s Social Impact Profiles™ while building an Action-based Social-Network™ to expand their connections and influence. The AltruHelp online (SaaS) application provides nonprofits with a proactive vehicle for skill-based volunteer recruitment & corporate/University partnerships. The tool suite enables companies to increase the impact & efficiency of Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. Benefits are seen in corporate civic engagement, talent acquisition, brand equity, operations, sales &  analytics. With AltruHelp, individuals and organizations can manage, amplify & increase social impact. AltruHelp was a Finalist in the 2011 MassChallenge, a global $1M entrepreneurship competition & business incubator. 

Importance of Product:
Cooperative altruistic behavior spreads 3+ degrees through social network interaction inspiring social impact (Source: Harvard Medical School 2009 Study) Our platform enables individuals & organizations to create a “cascade” of social impact, rapidly scaling: social innovation, civic engagement, & economic development.

Market Segmentation:
Our available Individual User market is 26% of the US population ages 16+ who volunteer at least once annually (~63M people, 8.1B hours, $173B mkt (Volunteeringinamerica.gov) ). Our target market is the Gen X & Y percentage of that population that volunteer annually & use social media (~31.5M).

Our available Corporate market is the approximate 40% of companies that produce a yearly CSR report or campaign (~10M). Our target market are those companies that produce a yearly CSR report & use social media to engage with stakeholders/promote CSR (~2M).

The available NPO market is comprised of the NPOs that use social networks for marketing & twitter to promote events (~1.2M). Our target market is the 22% of those US nonprofits that use social media to achieve business goals ( ~700K).

1. What is your innovation? 
Following Harvard Med School’s recent study, AltruHelp spreads altruistic behavior 3+ degrees w/ social network interaction. Our multi-tier solution is first to integrate Web 2.0 functionality: VolunteerMatch.org (matching), AngelPoints (corporate volunteer management), Catchafire.org (skill based volunteerism) & more. Our Social IMPACT profiles allow users to amplify civic achievements while creating an ACTION based social network to track IMPACT & make value-based connections
2. Who gains the most? 
The AltruHelp platform provides NPOs with a proactive vehicle for skill-based volunteer recruitment, fundraising & corporate/University partnerships while helping amplify their impact. The tool suite enables corporations & Universities to effectively measure the ROI of Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts. Benefits are seen in analytics & improvements in civic engagement, talent acquisition & operations. Students & employees will better connect w/ volunteer opps & understand social initiatives.
4. What is your success? 
AltruHelp will measure impact by number of people & orgs that we’re able to connect, move to action & inspire to share their accomplishments. Our goal is to reach at least 1 million users within 18 months of public launch. Within 1st year, we plan to on-board 20 companies & 50 NPOs who will use the platform for volunteerism and managing their social impact. By year 5, we anticipate hosting Social Impact Profiles™ for approximately 20,000 companies & 50,000 NPOs.
