It helps to reduce health - related issues in heavy populated areas, and also decrease the greenhouse effect.
FIVE PROJECT QUESTIONS Required (60 - 90 minutes)
1. What is your innovation?
The project belongs to the incremental innovation category and builds upon the existing air pollution control technologies. The project presents the construction of new types of filters reducing the concentration of carbon dioxide and fine particles in the air. Thus, the filters have social impact as reducing the hazardous air pollutants, improving the human health and the quality of life.
2. Who gains the most?
Society and countries as a whole can benefit from the project idea. For instance, (1) reducing human health problems such as asthma and lung cancer; (2) reducing the greenhouse gases concentration in the atmosphere (carbon dioxide and fine particles); (3) reducing the expenses over the greenhouse quotas (ex: Kyoto protocol); (4) facilitating the access to cheap fuel, methanol.
3. Who pays?
Based on the project beneficiaries, government and private sector have the greatest interest in investing into air - cleaning filters' construction. For instance,(1)municipalities might pay for the project implementations based on social programs for improved citizens' health;(2)private investors can support the project by advertising on the filters' outer-layer; Both parties may also receive additional profit from selling the output from the filtrating process - methanol (used as a cheap fuel).
4. What is your success?
The expectations from the project realizations are:(1)at the end of the first year a working prototype will be constructed;(2)at the third year the project will be implemented on a small and medium size pilot areas;(3)at the fifth year large scale implementation will be achieved; the successful project implementation will drastically increase the concentration of the air pollutants and improve heath conditions.
5. How will you do it?
I plan to: (1) to talk with NGOs to support my idea by promoting the main benefits;(2)to talk with elected officials responsible for environmental conservation who can facilitate the implementation process (by tax reduction);(3) to talk with media to distribute the idea and provide education for the society.
